13/365 - Tattoo

Rachel gave me a tattoo today on my back and my arm. That's right I now have a stick on tattoo on my back and a Kung Fu Panda on my arm. Wait a minute, I was just informed I have a second tattoo of a truck on my back not pictured.

11/365 - Pushover

Happy early birthday!!!! Jackie and I decided to give Rachel her present early because it was such a pretty day. She had a blast. We spent most of the afternoon outside planting in the garden or cruising.

10/365 - Texas Hold em

A couple of interesting things happened. The first is a cold front moved in and it snowed in Jacksboro for about 2 hours. Most of my garden looks alright. It didn't snow in Stephenville, but it was 39 degrees at the start of tournament. The reason why I know this is because we played in a cutting hourse arena that only had three sides. My event started at 9:00 and I got knocked out at 7:30. There were 254 players and I was number 52. Not bad I beat 202, but I had to finish in the top 25 to make any money. Better luck next year I guess. This is the hand I had when I went out, I know it is not the greatest hand, but I had to go all in because I was out of chips.

9/365 - On to Stephenville

Rachel and I left to Stephenville today. Jackie is going to be at a relay for life event and I have my Texas Hold em tournament tomorrow. We are going to stay the night at Poppie and MiMi's house. While we were driving to Stephenville Rachel looked at my owners manual to my truck the whole way there, page by page. The first thing you told MiMi was that I had 5 tires, one was under the truck. Rachel looked at the pages and asked about every picture looking for it in my truck and asking what it does. She also knows that I have 5 lug nuts on my truck. It was a lot of fun.

8/365 - Runway missing????

Jacksboro ISD does not have a track yet. We will have one next year after the completion of our new high school and sports facility. We have to make do with what we got. Down by the lake the City has an asphalt track and one sand pit to jump in. Jacksboro bought a runway for the pit years ago. It is portable and rolls up. I go and practice at this track at least 3 times a week. Today I get down there and the runway is gone. Someone has rolled it up and took it. No big deal you say. Well we cant practice with our spikes because of the asphalt and we don't know where to jump because there are no lines. Come to find out the City wanted everything cleaned up so, maintenance came and got it and throw it away. All the track stuff has been there, out side everyday since I have been here. Now two weeks before track is over we take our only runway and throw it away. I was.......... unhappy.

7/365 - So it starts

Rachel is now old enough to have friends over to visit. Lyndsey is the same age and attends the same daycare. Every time you pick Rachel up Lyndsey comes over, and when Lyndsey's mom picks her up Rachel goes to their house. The best part is they are both coaches kids and it is funny to watch them, "Lets race to the car" or "Lets play with the basketball". Here is the snack I made for them, cheese and crackers. I know it was simple, but I think it was a hit.

6/365 - Preparing for the Big Game

Tonight Jackie went to Ms. Bumpas' house for her birthday to watch the movie Twilight. Once Rachel was in bed, I decided to prepare for my Texas Hold'em Tournament in Stephenville, Texas. Only 300 people get invited to play. The winner is crowned Texas State Champion and gets $9000.00 or their $10,000 buy-in to the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. In 2005, I was very close. I made the final table and finished 8th. The tournament is Saturday at 9:00 A.M. Wish me luck!!

5/365 - A beta?????

Rachel got a new fish, Bubbles. We went to the store to pick out a fish. I thought she would choose some bright florescent glow fish, some tiger striped fish, or even a baby shark. As you can see we came home with a beta. That's right a beta, are you kidding me? Oh well it is her fish and Bubbles is living it up in a nice filtered aquarium.

4/365 - Last day of Spring Break

When we got up Rachel asked if we could fly kites that I found this week spring cleaning. We went to the store to pick out a fish. We racked leaves and drew pictures on the side walk with sidewalk chalk.

3/365 - Clean Closet

Today I decided to help with Spring Cleaning. As I was cleaning out the closet I noticed the amount of shoes on my wife's side. She has 33 pair!!!!! I was told this was standard, but that just seems like a lot of shoes.
