Today we had a picnic at the park and it was very hot. We went to the store and bought Rachel a $10 pool to beat the heat. She loved it.

71/365 - (5/28/2009) - Cookout
My grill fell and broke early in the spring. I have not found another one and my dad had a tailgate grill and gave it to me. I decided I needed some meet. Rachel and I built a fire and watched it. We are cooking some pork and T-Bone steaks. I love them as a matter of fact ya'll can just call me T-Bone. LOL. I bought them at the spur of the moment so they are very thin, but nevertheless they were good. And for a side note I am loosing my hair!

69/365 - (5/26/2009) - Rachel w/Daddy
Rachel went to school with me today because her daycare was closed. Before we went to school I took her to get donuts. She loves to look at all the different kinds and then chooses donut holes. She spent the day with her friend Lynsey. They ran and played all day and the 8th grade girls took care of her and she had a lot of fun. She was sore out when she got home they ran all day.

67/365 - (5/24/2009) - Turtle
Look what I found in Daisy's pen. The poor guy must have went through the ringer, but he is OK. I washed him off and Rachel watched him for a while to see him come out. He never came out and we went in the house. About five min. later that turtle was gone. He is faster than a regular turtle. I couldn't find him anywhere. Good luck Mr. Turtle.

61/356 - (5/18/2009) - Puzzle
This is one of my projects this summer. I have been telling Jackie that I would put this together for nine years (literally). This puzzle has been attempted once and moved to 6 different houses, this is the year I will put it together. I was doing puzzles with Rachel and I thought, it would be fun to show her a real puzzle. This puzzle is nothing like Rachel's puzzles it might take me all summer.

57/365 - (5/14/2009) Rangers
Today we took the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) to the Texas Rangers game. The picture looks like we sat 2 miles away, but I had to take pictures from my phone. The Rangers won with a walk-off home run in the 9th, it was exciting. Coach Jones dropped a home run ball that was hit to him. When I got back Rachel was staying with her friend because Jackie was in Austin with the fourth grade touring the capital. Then Rachel went to a mexican food restaurant with her friend. This is the first time she went out to eat without any family. This means she is growing up.

The last time at Pizza Pro with Jackie, Rachel, Doug, Amber, and I. Rachel would not let them sit with us because she said that the pizza store was our place. She loves to go and eat pizza with me when Jackie has other obligations. We had a good time, it was fun.

Jackie and Rachel had a girls day. They went to Chuck E. Cheeses, Build a Bear, Old Navy, doctors appointment, back to build a bear, and back to Chuck E. Cheeses. This is the second picture from Old Navy. In the first, the girl behind her was walking the dog, but she insisted on another where she was walking the dog.

53/365 - (5/10/2009) - Mothers Day
52/365 - 5/9/2009 Big Event
How appropriate for the name today. I got up and was excited about the caladium that finally came up in the garden. Then I had to take part in the big event. The athletes, boys and girls 7th - 12th, divide up into teams and go and do various jobs for the community. These jobs mostly include mowing, hauling off trash, and doing flower beds. Most of the people we help are older ladies around town. It is a good program.

50/365 - (5/7/2009) - Fire Ants
Today I was weeding the garden and Rachel helped, she pulled about three pieces of grass. She even got the roots. Well she ran back to the shed and got her shovel and wanted to dig or plant more seeds. I asked where does she want to plant more seeds and she stepped right into a fire ant bed. They must have sprung up since the rain. This is the first bed I have had since I have lived here. I have to go and buy some ant killer tomorrow and run'em off.

48/365 (5/5/2009) - Athletic Banquet
Rachel went to Nana's because we had our sports banquet. Everyone talked me into writing my speech and when I read it to her it was horrible. It was embarrassing. So I did what I did last year just started talking. Jackie said it was much better. I was not really that nerves. I guess this concludes this school year of sports.

46/365 - (5/3/2009) - Rachel's black eyes
I planted black eye peas too early and only 2 sprouted. So I replanted, or should I say Rachel replanted them. I made the holes and told her to put 2 beans in each hole. No problem because I can go back and check them as we cover them up. Rachel was on a misson and I was pulling weeds. When I looked back to check on her she was just about done and she covered them up as she went. So I had no idea if she got the seeds in the holes. Well she did a great job because they sprouted.

45/365 - (5/2/2009) - Lazy Day
44/365 - 4
4 Weeks of school left!!!! Our district is meeting on Sunday to talk about us being closed due to Swine Flu. As far as I know we don't have any confirmed cases in Jack county, just a couple of possible ones. The administration said we might be closed for two weeks and we probably would not have to make it up. I say lets stay home.
